Food For Thought

Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name when I'm found in the desert place
Though I walk through the wilderness
Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out I'll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say

Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your name, Jesus
Blessed be the name of the Lord
Blessed be Your glorious name

You give and take away
You give and take away
My heart will choose to say
Lord blessed be Your name

Why is it that so many times we bless, bless, bless when everything is good, but when things go downhill, we start saying, "GOD!!! Where ARE You?!?! Have You forgotten me?!?!" Shame on us. Job had it right.... The very minute that he found that he had lost EVERYTHING he responded this way:

Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped.21 And he said:

"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
And naked shall I return there.
The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away;
Blessed be the name of the LORD."

In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.
Job 1:20-22 NKJV

Perhaps we could learn a thing or two from Job and respond rightly when we are facing the desert place and walking through the wilderness....

Amen! Great thoughts. I was thinking this weekend about how Jesus broke bread and gave thanks in prayer right before His crucifixion. What in the world did He have to give thanks for right before His death?! Let that be an example to us to always give thanks and praise!
